My Granddaughter’s Smoothie Recipe: Strawberry, Banana-Mango Freshness

IMG_1109

My granddaughter and I always enjoy each other’s company and yesterday morning was no exception.

We often start the morning off with a fresh smoothie packed with fruits.  Needless to say, we love to experiment.  She suggested we try mixing the following:

  • 3/4 cup of pure apple juice
  • 1 frozen banana
  • a few fresh juicy strawberries
  • 1/2 of a fresh mango
  • 1/2 tsp of ground flaxseed (the flaxseed is not for the taste but overall health).

Blend everything together in your blender on high speed, and voila!  A very tasty and refreshing smoothie.

Flaxseed benefits:

Flaxseed has many benefits, but here are I few I use them for-

Rich in omega-3 fatty acids;

Awsome source of fiber;

I’ve been using flaxseed for years now because it does wonders for controlling menopause symptoms;

Flaxseed is also good for keeping your bad cholesterol level down;

Also, flaxseed is amazing for children in helping with muscle and bone development.  Improving brain function is another great benefit.

We find with our granddaughter, the flaxseed seems to help her focus.
