Coconut Oil In Your Beauty Routine

If you’re like me, you keep a close watch on those ingredient labels when you purchase any prepared food from the grocery aisles.  A little bit of knowledge is key to understanding the ingredients label which is often packed with harmful preservatives and chemicals.

When it comes to beauty products, I give the same attention to the ingredients label as I would packaged foods.  Remember anything you rub on your skin, ends up in your bloodstream.  Have you ever checked the ingredients label for your creams and lotions?

After sifting through hundreds of different beauty creams, I finally decided on a brand which I feel is quite nice without harsh chemicals.  It has wonderful reviews (so it’s proven effective as well).

In all honesty,  apart from my day and night cream, I am not very inclined towards store-bought beauty products and prefer to go back to basics by using raw, organic products at home, whenever I can.  On the upside, I know what’s going on my skin plus it sure saves a lot of money; as you know, beauty products can be insanely expensive.

Why don’t I use the coconut oil as my day/night cream, you might ask?  Being of a certain age, I don’t feel that the coconut oil, on its own, is supporting my skin as I would expect.  I feel that I need a combination of oils and since I’m not a chemist, I prefer to just go ahead a purchase a cream that is as natural as I can find it.

That being said, I do use a few different oils in my beauty routine and Coconut oil is one of them.  I purchase the large jar and transfer some in a small, sealable container which I keep on hand in the bathroom.

How to remove age spots and reduce the appearance of scars easily and without any special or costly treatments?

Raw Coconut OilIt’s that simple.  I know it works because I use it daily on my hands.  Plus coconut oil has so many more useful and healthy properties.  Here a few:

  • Coconut oil is great for lightening scars;
  • Natural body moisturizer
  • Use daily after your shower/bath on your heels (no more cracked heels)
  • Anti-fungal- rub those toenails
  • Lip balm
  • Makeup remover (very effective)
  • Undereye cream
  • Night cream
  • Cuticle oil
  • Stretch mark cream
  • Removes age spots or liver spots which are one of the same.

*Tip:  If you’re going to purchase a large container of coconut oil, keep it in the refrigerator so that it stays fresh smelling and doesn’t go rancid.
