Fibromyalgia- Control Inflammation With This Ingredient From Your Pantry


I struggle with Fibromyalgia and sometimes the inflammation is painful and will even keep me up at night.

What is Fibromyalgia?

“Fibromyalgia is a long-term or chronic disorder. It’s associated with widespread pain in the muscles and bones, areas of tenderness, and general fatigue. Symptoms like these are considered subjective, meaning they can’t be determined or measured by tests.”-References: (Health Line website).

Although Fibromyalgia can present different symptoms to different people, here are some of the symptoms I cope with:

  • Extreme fatigue
  • Trouble Sleeping
  • Ghost Pains (pain for no reason)
  • Headaches
  • Anxiety
  • Difficulty focusing

I was medicated for over 2 years which really helped control my symptoms.  Now I can pretty much cope with the symptoms via my diet and by being more active.

A major change that has had positive effects was giving the boot to coffee and chocolate.  I know, how could I?  But since coffee and chocolate are both stimulants, it was an important change for a pain-free and more energetic lifestyle.  When you add a stimulant to your already aching, anxious and sleep deprived body, you’re heightening those symptoms and causing them to worsen.  The bottom line is, you need to take control in order to feel better and have a better quality of life!  Setting goals paired with self-discipline and determination really paid off in the end.

Although I do feel better and more in control of my life, I still do have flair-ups every once in a while, and when I do have what I call “an episode”, I reach in my pantry and pull out the Turmeric powder (better yet if you can find the Turmeric root from your grocery aisle (the fresh root is much more potent- I have found it a few times at Walmart), but I noticed they also have it here on Amazon (I share products from Amazon because I love the products!  If you make a purchase via the link I share, I will be compensated in order to keep “” alive.  Thank You!)

Make a Turmeric Tea

Turmeric Tea:

*Add 1/4 tsp-1tsp of turmeric powder (organic) or chopped up turmeric root to 1 cup of boiling water.  Let steep for a few minutes and enjoy.

I love the taste!  I literally can feel the soothing effects in a matter of minutes.  How’s that for dealing with pain and inflammation naturally!  And one of the best things other than pain relief is that according to my research, there are no known side-effects.  Wonderful!!
